Steven H. Pruett

President & Chief Executive Officer

Steven H. Pruett is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Elevation Resources LLC, a Permian Basin focused exploration and production company which he co-founded in 2013. Mr. Pruett was previously Senior Vice President of corporate development of Concho Resources. He co-founded and served as president and CFO of Legacy Reserves LP, a public MLP. Mr. Pruett has over 30 years of oil and gas operating, financial and management experience, most of which has been in the Permian Basin. Prior to forming Legacy Reserves, Mr. Pruett was a venture partner with Quantum Energy Partners, and was President of Petroleum Place and P2 Energy Solutions. He previously served as president and CEO of First Permian, founded and was president and CEO of First Reserve Oil & Gas Co, and served as a Vice President for First Reserve Corporation originating upstream equity investments. He was an energy investment banker with CS First Boston. Mr. Pruett began his career as a petroleum engineer for ARCO Oil & Gas where he earned his registered professional engineer certificate. He worked in planning and business development for Amoco Production Company following graduate business school. Mr. Pruett received his B.S in Petroleum Engineering, High Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Mr. Pruett is a past chairman of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association, serves on the Board of Governors of Midland Memorial Hospital Foundation where he chairs the Investment Committee, and is a Trustee of First Presbyterian Church of Midland. He is a director of Key Energy Services, the largest well service company in the U.S. Mr. Pruett previously served on the Executive Advisory Board of the University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Business at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He also serves as a Trustee of Trinity School of Midland.

Randy Spaur

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Spaur joined Elevation Resources in March of 2014. With over 40 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, he has held senior level and executive management positions with major companies, large independents and startup energy companies. He has extensive experience as both a CFO and CEO in all facets of the oil and gas industry including exploration and production, oilfield services, mergers and acquisitions, strategy and planning, and investor relations.
Over the past fifteen years Mr. Spaur has demonstrated a successful track record for building startup energy companies into successful candidates for sale, merger or eventual IPO candidates. During his tenures with Vermilion Exploration Inc., First Energy Services Co., First Reserve Oil and Gas Co. and Colt Resources Corporation he had strategic involvement in building successful exploration, production and field operations with activity in the Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent, Texas and offshore regions of the U.S. He started his career in the financial analysis department of Mobil Oil Corporation and gained international experience with The Anschutz Corporation.
Mr. Spaur holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado.

Craig E. Young

Vice President & COO

Mr. Young joined Elevation Resources in July of 2017. With over 35 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, he has held senior level and management positions with major companies, large independents, and startup energy companies.
Mr. Young’s experience includes 13 years with Marathon Oil Company and 9 ½ years with EOG Resources, and several independent oil and gas companies. He has worked in the Permian Basin, Gulf Coast, Rocky Mountains, Alaska, West Africa, Barnett, Central Texas, and South Texas areas. Mr. Young was involved in the development of the Barnett Shale and the Eagle Ford Shale with EOG Resources. He ran operations for the EOG Eagle Ford managing 26 drilling rigs, 7 full time frac crews, and over 100,000 BOEPD production with a capital budget in excess of 2 billion dollars. Mr. Young helped develop drilling and completion technology utilized today in the most successful shale plays. He specializes in Drilling and Completions operations.
Mr. Young holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University. He also developed a patented process in horizontal completions.

Chris Cuyler

Vice President - Exploration and Geoscience

Chris Cuyler brings over 25 years of oil and gas experience with particular emphasis on prospect generation, asset optimization and new opportunity capture resulting in the building of world class assets. Prior to joining Elevation, Chris served as Vice President of Exploration for Tall City Exploration where he assembled acreage positions throughout the core of the Delaware Basin. Before Tall City, Chris served as Exploration Manager for Concho Resources and was instrumental in assembling their Delaware Basin position. Chris is a graduate of Baylor University (1992) and the University of Texas at San Antonio (1996) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, respectively in Geology. He additionally completed Rice University’s Executive MBA in Energy Management in 2006. Mr. Cuyler began his geologic career as consulting field geologist for Exxon Company, USA in South Texas in 1993. Later he served in variety of geoscience and exploratory roles of increasing responsibility for Mobil Exploration & Producing U.S., Santa Fe Snyder Corporation, Devon Energy, Dominion Exploration & Production, and Cimarex Energy. Chris currently serves on the board of several regional non-profit organizations.

Ty Zieman

Director of Finance & Business Development

Ty Zieman joined the Elevation Resources team shortly after its founding as the Corporate Finance Associate. He was promoted to Director of Finance & Business Development in May of 2016. Prior to joining Elevation, Mr. Zieman worked as an Analyst and Associate in the Energy Investment Banking group at Wells Fargo Securities, where he was involved in a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the upstream oil and gas, midstream and oilfield services sectors. During his time with Wells Fargo, Mr. Zieman worked on over $15.5 billion of closed capital raises and more than $1.3 billion of closed M&A transactions.
Mr. Zieman holds a B.B.A. in Finance and a minor in Accounting graduating with High Honors from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

Blake Case

CPA Controller

Blake Case joined Elevation Resources shortly after its founding and serves as its Controller. Mr. Case has over 15 years of accounting experience focusing primarily on the energy sector. Prior to joining Elevation, he served as Controller of Parallel Petroleum. At Parallel, in addition to normal responsibilities, he led the implementation of the international financial reporting standards subsequent to Samsung’s acquisition of Parallel. Before Parallel, Blake worked as an auditor at BDO USA, LLP where he focused on both private and public companies in the oil and gas industry, leaving as a senior manager. He has significant experience in SEC audit requirements and reporting rules as well as public and private placement offerings.
Mr. Case holds a BBA degree in Accounting and Masters of Science degree in Finance, both from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He and his wife Angie, and their 3 children reside in Midland, Texas.

Omar Sanchez

Land Manager

Omar Sanchez joined Elevation Resources in September of 2017, with 11 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has worked on a variety of projects in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico with the majority of his expertise in the Permian Basin of West Texas. Prior to Elevation, he served as Land Manager for Tall City Exploration II, LLC where he helped acquire acreage across the Delaware Basin. Prior to Tall City Exploration II, Omar served as Sr. Landman of Tall City Exploration, LLC where he was instrumental in successful in acquiring over 88,000 gross acres that were successfully divested for $1.24B in 3Q 2015. Before Tall City, Omar served as Landman III with Apache Corporation in various roles inclusive of Team Lead on British Petroleum/Arco Acquisition, due diligence on Mariner Acquisition, and instrumental in supervising the acquisition of over 56,000 Acres in the Southern Delaware Basin while serving in the New Ventures Group. Before his tenure with Apache he performed contract land services for many operators including Pioneer Natural Resources, PetroHunt LLC, Parallel Petroleum and Chevron Midcontinent.
Mr. Sanchez holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Columbus State University. He and his wife Amber have two children, Slade and Londyn and reside in Midland. Omar also is a member of American Association of Professional Landmen, Permian Basin Landmen’s Association and Permian Basin Petroleum Association.
